Calatheas are best known for their beautiful, striking foliage. Hailing from tropical rainforests, they are sometimes a little fussy in their care requirements, but once mastered they will repay you with a beautiful happy plant.

• Plant temperature - Happiest in rooms with temperatures of 15-23°C.
• Watering instructions - Water me when the top two inches of my compost feel dry. Reduce watering in winter months. Do not overwater me. I do prefer rainwater, or filtered water as I'm a sensitive to chemicals in tap water.
• Instructions for care - I enjoy humid conditions so rooms like steamy bathrooms make ideal homes, otherwise mist me reguarly.
• Feeding instructions - Feed me once a month during the growing season of Spring/Summer with a good quality general purpose plant feed.
• Instructions for planting - Repot in the Spring, only if plant becomes rootbound, to a grow pot one to two inches larger than current using a peat free general purpose compost.
