Well worth getting
I bought the ryobi hedge strimmer this summer to cut a griselinia hedge that's about 10 foot tall and 5 feet thick. With the extra pole attachment and angle adjustable head it made light work of cutting the hedge. What would normal take 2 hours with a ladder and hand strimmer I got the job done in less than 30 min without having to use a ladder. The strimmer was very good at cutting thicker branches (up to 2cm thick) so I was able to thin out the hedge. However I think its important to point out that when using the strimmer at its max length (ie using extension pole)there is a lot of weight to manage. I'm over 6 foot, 15 stone and in my 30s and I still had to switch arms regularly as my arms got very tired lifting the strimmer so if you are older or have shoulder/arm issues you will greatly struggle to lift and use the strimmer but I think ull find this issue with all the pole strimmers. Finally the battery lasts about 30 min but I was cutting through thicker branches so was working it hard. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase
