You have lots of different choices when decorating this special area of your home. So this year you'd prefer to do something "different" then some of these ideas may be for you...

Wreathed Stairs

Instead of a traditional garland, hang several wreaths up the stairs, spacing them evenly along the length of the railing. Also include bunches of green holly, remember to evenly space along the railings.

Fabric

Place a length of fabric, or may be netting, up your stairs. First you must measure by wrapping your stairway with a string to determine how much yardage to purchase. Decorate each section with a handful of fresh or artificial greens, wired ornaments, or bows. Or why not fix a row of Christmas lights to the fabric to run the entire stairway

Ribbon

Using three sizes (small, medium, and wide) of ribbons can add a fresh look to your stairs. Try wide wired velvet with a sparkly metallic and a small beaded garland. At each attaching point fasten a bow or bundle of ornaments.

Potted Plants

If your stairs are wide you might decorate the stair treads with small potted poinsettias, topiaries, small cedar trees, or other plants. Decorate each with a bow.
