Method of Painting Floors |
Before you start any painting always make sure the floor surface is completely clear as this will produce a quality finish to your project.
Use a vacuum cleaner to ensure your floor is completely dust free before painting.
Always start off in one corner furthers away from the door, carefully cutting in to either the skirting board or wall.
Work systematically across the room in squares about 2 feet at a time.
If you are painting or varnishing floorboards then paint 1 or 2 boards at a time the whole length of the room.
If you have decided to use a roller on the floor, paint a border about 1 foot, all around, out from the either skirting or wall.
When rolling, take care not to get paint on the skirting or walls; always roll parallel along in the wall rather than towards them.
Work your way gradually to the entrance and don't get yourself trapped in a corner!
