Energy Efficiency controls |
If your hot water system has no form of time controller then you will be keeping water hot when it is not required and so have higher standing losses from the system which in turn wastes energy and money.
This is particularly true for peak-electric immersion heaters.
Timeclocks can be set to heat the water at set periods of the day or 'run-back' timers can be used to limit the duration of heating (typically up to 2 hours) when switched on manually.
You can also use the timer to switch the immersion heater on at night or other periods when an off-peak electricity tariff applies.
