| Tips to Purchase a Doorknob |
There are several steps to be considered before you purchase a doorknob.
Step 1: Think about where you will be installing the doorknob. Interior doors may not always need keyed locks, for example.
Step 2: Decide what your particular preference either a standard type round knob shape, or a thumb latch and maybe the lever-type knob?
Step 3: Consider who will be using the doorknob. Children, handicapped people, and some may appreciate the benefits of a lever-type knob that is easier to open.
Step 4: Install passage type knobs on presses and other non-locking interior doors.
Step 5: Most bathrooms require a privacy type lock on the door and maybe also required on the bedroom doors. This is the type that locks from one side with a button or thumb turn.
Step 6: Always use keyed locking doorknobs for security on all exterior doors.
