| Frost Protection |
If a house is left unoccupied during extremely cold weather then there is a possibility of water pipes freezing if the house remains unheated.
A Frost Protection Thermostat will automatically put the heating system into operation in the event of the outside temperature approaching 0 degrees, supplying sufficient background heating to avoid burst pipes.
While this type of thermostat is not common in domestic heating systems, it should be considered for a new installation or when modifying an existing system.
