Question: Wall Preparation
What is best to use on walls that have been stripped of wallpaper and I want to paint, just a bit uneven here and there.

Answer: Prepare the walls

If your walls have previously had wallpaper, and now you have removed same to paint these walls.

First make sure that all bare walls are sound, clean and dry. Fill all holes and cracks using filler, smooth down the surface when it sets.

E 123 lining paper

Use lining papers?
Walls that are in poor condition, where for example there are small cracks or uneven surfaces. The use of lining paper will help to smooth walls prior to painting. I would recommend the use of a lining paper for a really professional job (normally 1000 gms).

Hang lining paper horizontally, if possible, using a heavy-duty clear vinyl adhesive. This ensures that the seams of the wallpaper will not fall directly over the seams of the lining paper.

Allow the lining paper to dry for 36 hours.
