Question: Plastering Ceiling
The plastering on my kitchen ceiling is very bad. It has been painted over several times. Can we plaster over the paint or do we have to take down the plasterboards, put up new ones and plaster again?

Answer

No I would not recommend plastering over any old paint work. The best method would be re-plastering the entire ceiling. You have the choice of removing the entire ceiling plasterboards and plaster work and starting from scratch.

The second choice is too fix new plasterboards over the original ones and then re-plastering same.
