Question: Hanging Blinds
I purchased some ready made wooden blinds with the intention of hanging them myself. I am now, however, a bit concerned. The blinds are 6cm narrower in width than the window which means that I will have to hang the brackets from the top of the window recess. My concern is that the fittings from the pack did not contain plastic plugs and the window recess sounds like it is plaster board. Can I hang the blinds by screwing the brackets in directly?

Answer

In would recommend if you are fixing into a concrete wall use rawlplugs and screws. If you are fixing into the likes of plasterboard use some type of toggle bolt fixing. You may require to take a trip down to your local hardware store, and ask for a practical demonstration of this type of bolt.
